For those Fletcher Hanks fans out there, the second volmue collecting Hanks twisted work, You Shall Die By Your Own Evil Creation! will be out in less than a month. Combined with the first volmue the two books will comprise the Complete Works by this long neglected master of the weird.

I had literally gone throguh almost exactly the same thing. I would say he wasn't lying to you when he said he'd defiantly date you, but he would probably have felt more solid in a relationship closer to home. So although he probably liked or likes you more than this other girl because of the distance and the fact he's was starting to like her he's gonna go for whichever relationships was the closest to him physically. So just think that if you had lived closer you'd have defiantly been top pick, but because of distance complicating things that's what ended your guys's relationship. But from personal experience you guys will probably still remain good friends if you stay in contact and if you guys meet up again someday the chances of old feelings coming back is extremely high.
