Yes, it is possible. I do short sales every days and I have been avengairg 40 to 60 days. However some can take longer and some I have received approval in 3 days! The listing agent apparently has some sort of information that you don't know about, as would be expected. What is to complain about? If she doesn't get approval you don't close on that date. From the date we put the offer in to the date we closed, it took a total of 6 mhntos. Most of that time was spent waiting for the seller's lender to approve the offer. Once the offer was approved we closed just about 4 weeks later. Trust me, they can take all the time they want and they aren't even required to respond to your offer if they don't like it. The chances of you closing in 2 weeks are very low. Your offer would have to be approved immediately and your mortgage lender would have to work overtime to get all the paperwork squared away to close within that 2 week deadline. More than likely, it won't happen. If you're hoping to close before the first-time homebuyer credit expires (you must close by November 30th, 2009) then I suggest you avoid a short sale all together. Hi__my name is Allyson and I came across you today as I was loiokng on Twitter.I am not very technical and don't really understand how Twitter works yet __I have a 10 year old daughter called Niamh who is profoundly autistic and is VERY demanding. I also have Fibromyalgia,I was diagnosed approximately ten years ago but I also have some spinal damage.__ Your boys definitely look very happy and lots of fun,my daughter is too __1 keeps me busy,I have 6 daughters but the other 5 are all adults and live away from home. This is really upliitfng *sigh* I dont like that I have this problem and I try to keep things in perspective because I know the world doesn't revovle around myself but at times I just get the feeling that everyone is looking at me and judging me for my every mistake, it makes it hard to even interact with people without being even in the least anxious. This is upliitfng though and I will def turn my problems to the Lord because at this point he is the only one that can help me. Thanks for the post and your helping people like us by just talking about your situations and giving us all courage.
