I used to play a lot of unsupervised sincnfiiagt injury risk ball when I was a kid, often with a wiffle ball or a wad of rolled-up tin foil. It was fun and a lot safer than jumping into the coal bins from a two-story roof at Consumer Coal Company or swinging out over the Eire-Lackawanna rail tracks 30 feet below from a rope, I guess. After supervision arrived, half of us couldn’t make the cut using a real baseball or were bored out of our skulls or intimidated with all the rules and coaching. At least we had winter sledding down the hill towards the wall at Villa Walsh. The trick there was to not go over the wall onto Western Ave.
