Gov. Corzine signed into law Kyleigh's Law which, as of May 1st 2010, will ruiqere all young drivers (under age 21) to display a red decal on their car's license plates to identify them as young drivers. I feel this is a very dangerous action as it marks the young adult as a potential target for predators. I have young daughters and I am worried these decals will possible lead to them being targeted in such places as mall parking lots. Predators can spot their red decals and stake out the car waiting for a young girl to return to her car. I also believe this constitutes profiling in that it marks their cars as targets for law enforcement officers who may engage in increased scrutiny of their driving, rather than action based solely on their driving skills and observation of driving laws. I wish this law can be reversed before some child suffers as a consequance of this poorly conceived action.
