It really deedpns on the type of fabric you are working on and how much paint you plan on layering. If you are painting on clothes that will be worn, you don't want to use something that will end up be stiff and heavy. If it will not be worn, that won't be such a big consideration. Have you considered trying airbrushing? That is a good way to decorate fabric without getting too heavy of a feel.Otherwise, you should still be able to find something that will work with just painting your design on.Check out the Jacquard website, they have lots of great fabric stuff. Take a look at the Galleries and Projects and How -To sections to see what products can give the look you want. As for brushes, you want to look for the type called decorative brushes; small brushes that come in a variety of useful shapes and down to very very tiny sizes.
