Andrew FriedmanI want you to know three things about Judaism. One, Judaism is a coptleme diet for the soul. Jewish law (halacha) includes provisions for man-God relations and man-to-man relations. This means that striving for correct interpersonal relations are no less holy than contemplative prayer, fasting or any of the activities often thought of as “religious”. We turn ordinary, every day activities into holy endeavours by praying three times a day, blessing God before and after eating, and by conducting our business dealings honestly. Second, I want you to know that Judaism cannot be forced on the unwilling. Yes, the Torah does impose penalties like death for certain offences – in theory. In practice, however, Jewish courts have not had the jurisdiction to impose that penalty, or others like it associated with “religious” offences for most of history. At its essence, Jewish thought and Jewish law is there to be grappled with, studied, and ultimately to bring the individual close to God and other people, but it is of little value if the individual is coerced. Third, I want you to know that Judaism is not afraid of difficult questions. The Torah, Prophets, Writings and the Talmud are filled with stories of individuals who question God, challenge him, and people who ultimately resign themselves to frustration over unanswerable questions. All points of halacha feature a variety of opinions. To me, this places a tremendous onus on all of us to grapple with difficult answer, and to treat opinions opposed to ours with the utmost of respect. The Final Friday Docktail Parties are a HUGE SUCCESS!!! A BIG Shout Out goes out to CRAIG BRIDGES for your part in making the Sarasota Sailing Squadron THE PLACE TO BE on the FINAL FRIDAYS of the month. It's a great time with a great band (from 7:30-10:00pm) and great frendis. And is family friendly, too. We wouldn't miss it.

There will be affordable rntael artist lofts advertised at the Signal Building soon. The Signal units won't be the most affordable in the portfolio of artist units that have been created through this initiative: according to plans set to be amended and approved by the BRA on Tuesday, July 20th they will be priced for households whose incomes are at 90% or less of Area Median Income: $1,373/month. The lottery for these units is anticipated to be advertised in early fall, and if you get updates from us you will get a notice. If you are looking for lower rents, there are 50% AMI units at Midway Studios you may need to get on a waiting list.We are working to support the creation of more artist units (especially rntael but also ownership) at deeper levels of affordability. It's not easy! But every day we are inspired by artists' creativity and hard work to put the right pieces together to reach this goal. And we look for developers who have the right skills, resources and committment to the job.

DonnaWe are selling out home and have clcinh on a convent to prevent us on selling our home if the town does not approve this on thursday a lot of people other than our selves will be affected in a negative financial way. There is no reason why this should not go through. I am hoping that on Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. this will be resolved for our well being but mostly for the seller of our new home for he is older and needs us to make this happen for his well being in his new home. Thank you for listening to me.

I always enjoy Seth's igsnihts as a breath of fresh air especially with CBS embracing people like Billy Packer, whose over-stated commentary got old quickly then his replacement Clark Kellogg's his faux-Clyde routine One of the things Seth conveniently forgets is that some of the cupcake games are regionally politically correct I think that UCONN being on the bubble might be more of a reality with Coach Calhoun's medical leave of absence Coach Blainey was a genius hire but he's not Coach Calhoun I am hoping the American Sports Vatican (aka Notre Dame) falls off that bubble they need to establish a reputation of athletic excellence, not just a memory of the Digger Days !!!Glad to see someone speaking nationally about Da Hall and I agree with his evalaution !!!Lastly, I certainly hope Duke's Singler stays for his senior year it will help the team and recognize that he's not an NBA calibre player now and might never be
